This is my honest review of Taking Cara Babies‘ ABCs of Sleep course.
I opened my eyes and rolled over with a groan. It was 2:17 AM and the baby was awake and crying again. In an attempt to be helpful, my husband, who had been woken up too, asked me what I wanted to do for the child.
I laid there in the dark, half asleep, and feeling irritated that someone wanted coherent thoughts and ideas from me about how to manage a screaming baby the middle of the night.
I didn’t have a clue what to do. I didn’t have a plan. But I desperately wanted to be able to sleep through the night.
Neither of my first two kids slept through the night for a whole year. It was brutal. They wouldn’t go back to sleep without being nursed, so I was the only one who could get up with them.
When I did finally decide to wean them of night-feedings, it was a heart-wrenching ordeal of crying it out for hours in the middle of the night because I didn’t know what else to do.
But my third baby? He’s been happily sleeping through the night since he was six months old. (And I’m confident I could’ve trained him to do it sooner if I’d purchased the Taking Cara Babies course earlier.)

HERE’S WHAT I LOVED DURING MY TAKING CARA BABIES REVIEW
IT’S EFFECTIVE
Cara claims a 98% success rate for families who follow her plan. And I can safely say that our family is one of the 98% percent! We were having multiple wakeups during the night and poor naps throughout the day, and I was DONE.
I bought the course in a fit of rage one day when the baby had woken up one too many times during his afternoon nap.
It wasn’t the most rational decision I’ve ever made, but I’m so glad I did it all the same.
After a few days of implementing Cara’s tips and strategies we have a baby who sleeps 10-12 hours at night, and takes a solid, predictable morning and afternoon nap. It’s amazing.
IT’S A SHORT CLASS THAT PACKS A PUNCH
When you’re a sleep deprived new parent, the last thing you want to do is work through a course that will take you hours and hours to get through. The great thing about the ABCs of Sleep Course that we took is that it doesn’t take very long to get through all of the information.
It’s short and to the point. All of the videos, including the bonuses, are about 2 hours long altogether. We watched it on 1.5 speed and got through it even faster!
It covers a wide range of topics that will help you sort through just about any sleep related problem including:
- night wakings
- early morning wake ups
- how to cut out night feedings
- naps
- and more!
IT GIVES YOU A CLEAR PLAN
One of the biggest struggles for me in having a baby who doesn’t sleep well is trying to make decisions about what to do with the baby in the middle of the night while I’m half asleep.
Should I rock her? Let her stay up for a little while before putting her back to sleep? Should I feed her? Let her cry? But after you take the sleep course, you’ll have a clear plan of action for how to handle night wakings without stress or confusion.
It really helps to have everyone on the same page when it comes to how to handle baby sleep. When I first bought the course, I watched it and tried to implement without my husband.
That didn’t work out very well.
When I took care of the baby, I would obviously follow the plan and things would be great. But since my husband didn’t have the same information, he would always make suggestions that weren’t according to the plan, and do things very differently as soon as it was his turn to take over.
His way wasn’t necessarily BAD, but consistency is a very important part of the ABCs of Sleep strategy, so we really needed to be on the same page. Taking the sleep course together helped SO much.
EASY TO IMPLEMENT
The Taking Cara Babies method is super easy to understand and put into practice. There’s just a few simple steps to follow, and you’re practically guaranteed to have a baby who sleep through the night within 14 days.
BACKED BY SCIENCE
Cara did her research before creating her courses, and it’s clear that sleep training is not only not a bad thing, but it actually has tons of benefits for both moms and babies! So you can confidently implement her methods knowing that you’re doing what’s best for your child – even if it’s tough in the moment!
WHAT I DIDN’T LOVE
As amazing as the Taking Cara Babies course and it’s results are, there’s are just a couple of cons to mention:
IT’S EXPENSIVE
One of the biggest reasons I held off on purchasing the course was the price tag. I was a third time mom and I had read a number of sleep training books before. I didn’t think Cara could possibly have any information for me that would be worth the investment.
I thought that having bad sleepers was just my lot in life.
When I finally broke down and bought it when my baby was 5 months old, I couldn’t believe how helpful it was! And the results speak for themselves.
If there’s any possible way you can make room in your budget to invest in this course, do it. I wish I would’ve had all this information when I had my first baby.
If you’re still not convinced, consider what you’d be willing to pay to sleep through the night again. Because you’re not really paying for a course. You’re paying for the results.
Besides, Cara offers a 30 day money back guarantee, so you really have nothing to lose by trying it!
IT’S TOUGH TO HEAR YOUR BABY CRY
The Taking Cara Babies method involved more crying than I expected. It’s definitely hard to sit there and listen to your baby cry until they fall asleep. But like I mentioned above, Cara’s methods are backed by science. A couple of nights of crying won’t hurt your baby, and the benefits of your baby finally learning to sleep at night far outweigh any cons.
Plus, Cara will teach you how to let your baby cry it out while making sure she knows you’re right there with her. She’ll know she’s not abandoned and she won’t be emotionally damaged!
EXPIRES AFTER 4 MONTHS
I was a little disappointed to find out that you don’t get access to the course forever after you purchase – it only lasts for four months.
But that fact gave me a little kick in the pants to make sure I learned everything in the course before it went away. Otherwise I might’ve watched the first few lessons and never actually gotten the motivation to finish!
You’ll also get a PDF booklet that you can print out and keep forever that has most of the pertinent information from the course. And you can always take notes as you watch the videos if you’re worried you’ll forget something!
TAKING CARA BABIES DESERVES A GREAT REVIEW
If you buy the course right now, your baby could be sleeping through the night two weeks from now.
In fact, our nights were greatly improved in just a couple of days!
If this review hasn’t convinced you, if there’s any doubt left in your mind about whether or not this course is for you, I would encourage you to try it.
Your sleep is worth it!
