I love looking for rare and unique bible names for babies. There’s something very solid about biblical baby names – you practically can’t go wrong choosing a name from God’s holy word! And some of them are very cool.
There’s a lot to think about when you find out you’re having a baby. You have to decide whether or not you’ll breastfeed, figure out how much the baby will cost you, and, of course, decide on a baby name. It’s just the first of many important decisions you’ll make for your child as their parent.
I think the moment we chose each of our girls’ names is when it actually started feeling real to me that I was going to be a mom. We chose to reveal their names right after we found out the sex, so we had a boy name and a girl name chosen ahead of time for each of them.

The naming process came pretty easily to us, and I had a lot of fun with it. I grabbed a baby name book from the library and would throw out names to my husband any time we were in the car going somewhere. Then he would either shoot it down or say it was alright. As soon as we found names that we both liked, that was what we went with.

We didn’t get crazy with meanings or family names or anything like that. We were more interested in making sure that our kids had normal names that we would like using on a regular basis.
I’m still not actually sure what either of my kid’s names mean. Honestly, I’m not really convinced that baby name book authors don’t just make them up as they write. Every book I’ve ever looked up my own name in has said something different. Ha!
Some of these unique and rare baby names might seem too outlandish to name your baby, but I’ve known people who had many of these names. Even Jairus and Jachin.
Hey, they could be good choices if you don’t want your kid having 5 classmates with the same name!
Anyway, here goes.
